Let's start... with an epic introduction:

     I thought about introducing myself a bit in my first post, but then I figured, if you really cared (I know you're here for GW2!) there's an "About Me" section for that. I will however, give you a quick look into my personal experience within the gaming community. I'm going to start with making it known that I'm a girl gamer. (To the WoW community: Don't be throwing me the crap about, "Only perverted guys pretending to be girls play MMO's" and "You must be a beach whale." nonsense.) lol Relentless I tell you! The reason I'm starting with this, is to first let you know that I really HATED these games 5 years ago. My boyfriend at the time (now fiance) played World of Warcraft, along with his brother and best friend. I lived with the three of them... oye. I just could not understand why he couldn't just pause the damn thing and concentrate on me maybe? I was utterly confused as to why they stayed up and played for days at a time. They all looked like zombies! (Yes, just like the south park episode you're thinking of.) I just didn't get it. Long-story short: THEY SUCKED ME IN! Eventually, I fell in love with the game I once despised.. and have played WoW since. I've also played Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) as well as the new MMO, Rift, that was released the beginning of this year. So I might not have as much experience as some of you out there, I'm sure.. but I have the passion for these games nonetheless. I also have an artistic background and have decided to pursue a Bachelors degree in Digital Entertainment and Game Design. Ironic? Just a bit.

     My fiance also introduced me to Guild Wars 2. I remember we were trying to recruit all of our friends from WoW to come join us in Rift.. and all we kept hearing about was this GW2 game. I was actually irritated with it at first, only because we were already addicted to 3 games and out of money. So I ignored everything about it. That is of course until Rift ended up being a copy-cat MMO like all the rest. Trion has done a good job with keeping the community updated and giving us a nicely polished game right from the start. They did a few things better then the last guy, yes. But, Rift is also a new game. It better have SOMETHING new or at least updated about it. The graphics, of course, were a change we were looking forward to, among other things. On the other hand, virtually everything about the game is the same as every other MMO we've played. This is understandable... but only to an extent.

     So what are a few things that I am excited for about Guild Wars 2? EVERYTHING! I've heard "the next generation MMO" more then just a few times in correlation with this game. It's not just me, hooray! Being that I have a new obsession with this game, I've come across a lot of forum posts populated with misinformed gamers. It's frustrating, to say the least, to read the things they're saying. Only because the things they're saying are either not true, or outdated information. Which sucks. I've researched enough to know. I'm sick of just nodding my head in irritation with these posts, so I've started this blog. This is in hopes that some of you will find me, appreciate my blog and use it for information... if that's what you want. It's for anything and everything Guild Wars 2 related.
